Creatures On the Move

Dear friends around the world,

We are excited to share a new project that we have been developing over the past year. This project is a sequel to our first book, “On the Move: Poems and Songs of Migration.” We are calling it “Creatures On the Move.”

We came up with the idea to write about creatures on the move during the first lockdown of the Covid-19 pandemic while we were both living in Belgium. What fun it would be to learn about animals that are free to move about while we were confined to our homes.

Our intention for this project is to share the stories of several extraordinary creatures, how they move about the planet, and the qualities we find most inspiring about them.

We use three languages for each creature song: English, Dutch, and French. In the chorus of every song, you can hear the English, Dutch, and French words for the Butterfly, Snail, Fish, Turtle, Cow, Whale, Puffin, Wolf, Bird, Frog, and a surprise at the end.

Each Monday, we will share one of the creature songs with you! We hope you love them and singalong. Please share any creative inspiration you take from them with us: drawings, dance, singing. We would be so pleased to know these creatures have found their way into your hearts and homes!
