Give me a chance

We wrote this song with a young man from Yemen on 28 October 2019 in Brussels, Belgium at the Fedasil Arrival Center, also known as Petit-Château Klein-Kasteeltje. He had left his parents two years earlier in search of a country that would grant him asylum so he could bring them both to safety in Europe. Both of his parents had been severely wounded by bombings, and this young man told us he lived only for them. He had once believed that anything in life was possible if you worked hard. Now, life had taught him that this was not true.

I hope this young man will be granted asylum and be able to be reunited with his parents in a place where they can all be safe.
